Projection design PROJECTS
HADESTOWN by Anais Mitchel
I fell in love with Hadestown along with everyone else. That lead to experimenting with the musical in regards to projection and automation design. In the process of developing projection assets, I ended up designing the set, lights, projection and automation. I took inspiration from the 1930s, dustbowl era and industrial aesthetic.
JANE EYRE adapted from Charlotte Bronte
I have enjoyed the hauntingly beautiful work of the Bronte sisters for many years. I decided to play with the pull of nature and stone and how that imagery might create different spaces/settings through out the story of Jane Eyre. In the process of developing projection assets, I ended up designing the set, lights, and projection. The set is in force perspective with portals and panels that move to help create new spaces both intimate and vast.
MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR by William Shakespeare
Years ago I heard about this concept for Merry Wives of Windsor and I thought it was a perfect way to elevate and clarify the story. Through projection, film, quick changes, I wanted to transport Merry Wives onto the set of the Lucille Ball show. It's a beautiful period as well as a setting that enhances the humor of Mistresses Page and Ford's adventures with Falstaff.
